Here's what I think are some interesting night shots taken on the trip across the Nullarbor with our racecar in May. Taken at Nundroo Roadhouse, 155 kms east of Ceduna in South Australia ,late in the evening and obviously after recent rains....

WORKSHOP CAMERA CLUB...

I recently joined the Workshop Camera Club to improve my photography skills and network with people of similar interest. The club meets weekly on Wednesday evenings at the Canning Arts Centre in Riverton and already I have made friends, been on outings with different interest groups and entered shots in the monthly competitions.
They are looking for a new logo for the club and I have put together a submission and include the mockups shown here. I have tried to focus on the club being made up of lots of people all with an interest in photography...I am pretty happy with the result...

SHANNON'S V8 TOURING CAR SERIES 2010...

In 2010, the United Racing Team is contesting the Shannon's National Series in the V8 Touring Car Class with their lead car, the ex Perkins Racing Jack Daniels VY V8 Supercar #22 of Dean Kovacevich and Isi Ambrosio. So far we have done 2 events, Mallala in SA in May coming 5th and Winton in Victoria in June, again in 5th. My role in the team is in the media and admin aspects, taking care of the paperwork and those details at the track and in taking video and photographs for our blog and website. We have just purchased a new video camera to mount inside the racecar and it can also be mounted in different places such as under the car to get a more unusual view as well as the operation of the various components under there like the brakes and suspension...it is much more compact than our previous cameras and it will be interesting to get our first footage. Our next event is Eastern Creek in NSW, from 10th - 12th of September. It should be a nice change after the first two which were wet and cold...

NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE...















Last year I did a Creative Photgraphy Course at Fremantle Arts Centre. It was a six week class for three hours on a Saturday afternoon. I enjoyed it and so this year I enrolled in a Night Photography course with the same lecturer, Susan Hill on Tuesday Nights. It too is proving to be very enjoyable and has given me a lot of confidence with taking photos at night....click on the photos to see a larger view...

DUCK ON THE SWAN...
Here are a couple of photos of a friendly duck taken about 7pm on New Years Eve, after a picnic tea with the family by the Swan River in South Perth...also like this jetty shot...
